Married to Pete Constant for 22 years.
Raising 5 Children
I have 15 year old twins, Alexandra and Amanda, 13 year old twins, Peter and Samantha, and a 10 year old daughter, Sydney. They are students at Oakmont High, Chilton Middle, and Fiddyment Farms Elementary Schools.
Each of my children learn in different ways, and over the years we have learned how to provide them the type and level of resources to learn in their own, unique way. Just as we need to provide for all children in our community.
My children have attended public, charter, and private schools, giving me multiple perspectives in which to bring to school board discussions and to base my decisions upon.
My husband and I have owned several businesses over many years. Currently, I am a fundraising consultant, working with schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations.
School Board Experience
In our prior community, I was elected twice to serve on an elementary school district board. CUSD is a PreK-8 school district that includes parts of 6 cities in Santa Clara County. Our teachers educated more than 7,600 students, plus 560 preschoolers, annually in 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, a Home School program and district-operated preschools.
During my tenure we balanced our $85 million budget each year – even in the middle of the Great Recession – while at the same time increasing our district’s API scores. Together, with our teachers, parents, and staff, we provided an education beyond the expected, educated individual students to their highest potential, and ensured that they were prepared to succeed. Whether it was our Dual-Language Immersion school, Parent Participation school, or traditional schools, we prepared our students for college and career success and to be globally competitive in the workplace.
Throughout my terms on the school board, I worked diligently on personal development in order to better prepare myself for my tasks as a board member. I’m proud that I completed the Masters in Governance program, which equips board members and superintendents with the knowledge and skills needed to build and support an effective governance structure. These are the core governance principles that have made the program the standard for board member professional development across the country.
My family and I have dedicated our lives to public service. We have taught our children by example that being a member of the community means working for the good of the entire community. We give our time, talents, and treasure to ensure our community grows strong together.
My husband and I have both previously served in public office, and since moving to Roseville we have immersed ourself in the community we now call home. All of our children are involved in numerous school activities, recreational and competitive sports, and both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
