Julie Constant
Married to Pete Constant for 29 years.
Raising 5 Children
I have 23 year old twins, Alexandra and Amanda, 21 year old twins, Peter and Samantha, and a 18 year old daughter, Sydney. They are students at University of San Diego, and Jessup University. Previously, they attended Oakmont High School, Chilton Middle School, and Fiddyment Farm Elementary School.
Each of my children learn in different ways, and over the years we have learned how to provide them the type and level of resources to learn in their own, unique way. Just as we need to provide for all children in our community.
My children have attended public, charter, and private schools, giving me multiple perspectives in which to bring to school board discussions and to base my decisions upon.
Small Businesswoman
My husband and I have owned several businesses over many years. Currently, I am an office manager of a busy medical office. Previously, I was a fundraising consultant, working with schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations.
School Board Experience
I have served on the RCSD board since I was elected in 2016. I served as the president of the board in 2019 and served 8 years on the policy subcommittee.
Prior to moving to Roseville, I was elected twice to serve on an elementary school district board, Campbell Union School District (CUSD). CUSD is a PreK-8 school district that includes parts of 6 cities in Santa Clara County. Our teachers educated more than 7,600 students, plus 560 preschoolers, annually in 9 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, a Home School program and district-operated preschools.
During my tenure we balanced our $85 million budget each year – even in the middle of the Great Recession – while at the same time increasing our district’s API scores. Together, with our teachers, parents, and staff, we provided an education beyond the expected, educated individual students to their highest potential, and ensured that they were prepared to succeed. Whether it was our Dual-Language Immersion school, Parent Participation school, or traditional schools, we prepared our students for college and career success and to be globally competitive in the workplace.
Throughout my terms on the school board, I worked diligently on personal development in order to better prepare myself for my tasks as a board member. I’m proud that I completed the Masters in Governance program, which equips board members and superintendents with the knowledge and skills needed to build and support an effective governance structure. These are the core governance principles that have made the program the standard for board member professional development across the country.
Community Volunteer
My family and I have dedicated our lives to public service. We have taught our children by example that being a member of the community means working for the good of the entire community. We give our time, talents, and treasure to ensure our community grows strong together.
My husband and I have both previously served in public office, and since moving to Roseville we have immersed ourselves in the community we now call home. All of our children have been involved in numerous school activities, recreational and competitive sports, and both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
